100hr. TESOL Course Option
Teaching English Overseas is an ever-increasing industry and an awesome way to earn while you travel. Our TESOL courses, taught by Teach International, show you how easy it really is, even without teaching experience or a University degree! The practical courses are suitable for all ages and are run by qualified and experienced teachers who have taught and travelled all around the world! And once you have your TESOL qualification, you have it for life: it never expires!
What do TESOL Teachers do?
TESOL teachers teach English to speakers of other languages. The demand for TESOL teachers is huge, and varies from country to country, city to city. Generally, opportunities for TESOL teachers include:
- Language Schools
Children and adults around the world attend English classes (usually conversational) in private language schools. Classes are usually about an hour long, held once or twice a week for each group of students, but this varies. In our course we discuss the benefits and points to look for when teaching at franchise schools and private language schools. Language schools are usually the most comfortable and supportive environments for new TESOL teachers to get started.
- Primary Schools, High Schools, Colleges & Universities
The need for "native English" teachers in the regular school systems around the world highly varies. For those who already have a teaching certification, adding a TESOL certificate to that will open many doors for you. However, in many countries the need is so great that anyone with a TESOL certificate has access to many fabulous opportunities as well.
Let us tell you what to expect and how to find these types of jobs.
- In-company or "Business" Classes
The demand for English in Business is massive! Many English teachers land great opportunities to teach one or two-hour lessons once or twice a week in businesses. While you don’t need to have a background in business to teach business students, our online elective "Teaching Business English" is a great way to both prepare yourself and make yourself more marketable as you look for opportunities to supplement your income and get involved in your community.
- Private Tutoring
If you have spent some time in a non-English speaking country, you may have noticed that many of the locals are very eager to practice their English with native English speakers. No matter their motivations, you will doubtless come across individuals who are interested in paying for your attention and time one-on-one so they can advance their English skills.

Why do a TESOL Course with Teach International?
- Get Higher Paid Jobs and Provide Better Lessons in the Classroom: It is increasingly more difficult today to find good quality teaching positions overseas if you do not have a TESOL qualification at a minimum. Gone are the days when any 'backpacker' who spoke English could land a high-paying teaching job. Overseas schools and students now demand that teachers have some basic training so they can provide quality lessons with confidence and experience.
- Qualified Trainers: All Teach International trainers are university educated and have extensive academic credentials and overseas teaching experience.
- Job Search Support: Ongoing guidance, support and information on the job opportunities worldwide continue to be provided long after you graduate from your course. Graduates have ongoing access to the job database, recruitment service, discussion forums, and country guides.
- Support Network: Teach international has a graduate network and encourages trainers and students to keep in touch with fellow students and trainers after graduation. Graduates often contact each other for recommendations, guidance and advice.
- Practical: The intensive in-class component of our International TESOL course provides authentic and hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for a variety of classroom situations. We give students a 'how to' guide to classroom management and designing creative and dynamic lessons for the ESL classroom.
- Convenient: The delivery of our TESOL course is convenient for our students. Through the use of modern technology, students are able to complete most of the course online – allowing them to design a study schedule that suits them. This delivery method also allows us to offer our course at such a competitive price.
- Study to Suit Your Needs: Teach International takes a step-by-step approach to TESOL learning, with all customers commencing their study at the Foundation level. Higher level courses are also available after the Foundation in TESOL course has been completed and qualifications can be upgraded through Teach International at a later date from anywhere in the world!
- Foundation in TESOL: 100 hours - (40 hours in class and 60 hours online study). This course is suitable for anyone wanting to teach English overseas, and includes a money-back guarantee, job search assistance, and access to recruitment service and graduate network. This course is internationally recognised and the qualification is accepted by overseas employers.

FAQs
Why Teach English Overseas?
Why not? Perhaps you don’t qualify for the Working Holiday Maker Scheme; maybe you want a career change; or you like the idea of working overseas but don’t want to end up working in a dingy bar for months on end! Whatever your reason, a TESOL course can show you the way to gaining the skills and securing the teaching job you want!
I already speak English; can't I just go overseas to teach without doing the course?
Well occasionally you may find jobs (in South America or Africa) that don't require any qualifications. These may be on a volunteer basis, or the pay may be very rudimentary. But more often than not, a TESOL qualification is the minimum that will be required. It is important to know what you are doing in the classroom - you will be more confident and your students will thank you.
What is the Difference between TESOL and TEFL?
In reality there is very little difference between TEFL and TESOL. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language and TESOL for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
The TEFL acronym came largely from the UK and TESOL is more common in the US, Canada and Australasia. Historically, the TEFL is associated with teaching students in their home country - where English is unlikely to be the first language - and TESOL is associated with teaching students who have migrated to countries where English is the native tongue.
Despite the fact that English teachers can debate this matter for hours, there is very little difference between the two and the acronym used tends to be based largely on who is talking and which part of the world they come from.
Jobs overseas requiring a TESOL qualification will accept a TEFL qualification and vice-versa.
Is One Better than the Other?
We think both our education providers Teach International and i-to-i are the bees knees, and both of them provide excellent quality courses. Depending on your needs, perhaps an intensive 100hr. TESOL course with recruitment service and job guarantee will be for you, or maybe you live outside of Australia and cannot attend an in-class course, then an online TEFL course might suit you better. What Launchpad Australia want to do is give you choice!
What do the Differences in Cost Mean?
Cost is determined by a number of factors: the number of training hours (i.e. how long the course is), whether the course has an 'in-class' component, and the level of job hunting resources / assistance provided. We recommend you consider each of the courses, and based on your own needs, decide which option is right for you.
