The once small fishing port is now a world famous international port, the biggest city in China and the 6th biggest City in the world in terms of population density. Shanghai is also the birthplace of China's tourist industry.

The School
Located downtown, in the former French Quarters behind the Bund, our school is based in a very nice newly-built group of houses, overlooking a central Chinese style garden square in a peaceful residential area. The complex is particularly well placed and makes an excellent setting for the school.
Within a couple of minutes walk away, you will find restaurants, cafes, embassies, nice hotels and busy streets... The French atmosphere still flows in the air...
Highlights include:
- The school runs activities (some free of charge) including city tours, dumpling making and Chinese painting.
- Courses available from 2 weeks to 6 months or more
- Multilingual teachers
- Maximum students per class: 10
- Minimum age: 16
- One lesson = 50 minutes
Programs
General Mandarin
Intensive 20: 20 lessons per week
Combined 25: 20 lessons plus 5 private lessons
Accommodation
Takes out the hassle and expense of finding your own accommodation, both hostel apartments are of a high standard and within easy reach of the school.
There are two types of accommodation in Shanghai:
- Host Family - single room with half board (breakfast and dinner)
- Basic Shared Apartment - single room, in simple buty fully furnished shared apartments (shared with other students) 30 minutes from the school. Self catering.

How to Apply:
Step 1: Choose the course you would like to participate in. If you don't quite see what you are looking for, email us at languages@launchpadaustralia.com and we can help you find a course that suits you.
Step 2: Once you have chosen your course, email us to check availability.
Step 3: Fill out the
Application Form and fax to Launchpad Australia on 03 9445 9375. Remember to indicate on the application form your method of paying the deposit. Deposit is required for you to be able to secure your place on the project. Launchpad Australia accept bank cheque, money order or direct deposit.
Step 4: The final balance will be required 90 days prior to your departure from Australia, or if you are departing within 90 days, full payment is required at time of booking.
